A much-needed vacation...

FINALLY... I got out of this house! Last week we went on a trip with our homeschool group. We traveled through 3 states (if you include our state of residence) and we visited the following sites:

Little House on the Prairie Historical Site in Independence, KS
Laura Ingalls Wilder Historical Home and Museum in Mansfield, MO
Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum (kids talked us into that one!)
Fantastic Caverns in Missouri (a spectacular drive-through cave... WOW!!!!)

My 6yo Aspie daughter's behavior left much to be desired, but we all had a ton of fun! My mother and 16yo sister came with us. We stayed at a hotel with an indoor water park and we all had a blast!!

Here is a snapshot of us all standing in front of the Wilder house in Mansfield, MO.. This is the house she and Almanzo lived in when she wrote the books. They give WONDERFUL tours of the inside of this house.. It's almost exactly as she left it when she died.. Wow!
